
In August 2025, the General Incorporated Association S.C.P. Japan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladeshi social service organisation Sports for Hope and Independence (SHI) concerning the resolution of social issues through sport and the construction of an inclusive society.
This partnership aims to advance the “Sport for Development” in Asia and expand initiatives leveraging sport to tackle social challenges. Both organisations will share their respective expertise and apply it to their projects. Furthermore, under this agreement, the two organisations will share knowledge and resources to benefit communities in both countries. Through this cooperative relationship, they intend to contribute to the development of “Sport for Development” initiatives across Asia.

・Collaboration on promoting human rights and an inclusive society through sport, physical activity, and play (particularly promoting participation in sport for girls and children/young people with disabilities, and on developing coaches)
・Collaboration on promoting Safe Sport and safeguarding
・Collaboration on sharing experiences and best practices, and on disseminating information
・Collaboration in other related areas mutually agreed upon
【About Sports for Hope and Independence (SHI)】
Sports for Hope and Independence (SHI) is a Bangladeshi social service organisation using sports as a vehicle for youth development and community transformation. SHI’s innovative programs combine sports training with life skills education to empower disadvantaged children, youth, particularly girls and persons with disabilities, in rural Bangladesh. We have impacted 15,000+ youth in 2024 through our network of trained local coaches and community centers. SHI’s model addresses multiple SDGs including Quality Education (4), Gender Equality (5), and Reduced Inequalities (10).
